Performance Lab LIC:
Performance Lab LIC is a high-end commercial boutique fitness operation offering 2 studios designed for group fitness classes.
Studio 1 offers strength, cardio, hybrid, and boxing classes. This studio has a capacity of 24 participants and contains top-of-the-line equipment including dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, sandbags, TRX suspension trainers, medicine balls, dead balls, bands, battle ropes, Woodway Curve treadmills, Rogue fan bikes, infinity ropes, gymnastics rings, parallettes, and heavy bags.
Studio 2 offers hot Yoga, hot HIIT, Pilates, Barre, dance cardio, and recovery classes. This studio has a capacity of 30 participants and all classes are heated with state-of-the-art infrared panels. Equipment includes Lululemon yoga mats, blocks, straps, blankets, Tune Up and Alpha balls, bolsters, light dumbbells, Therabands, Pilates Overballs, and Pilates Magic Circles.
Job Overview:
As a Performance Lab Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering scientifically pre-designed workouts for up to 24 (studio 1)/30 (studio 2) clients per class. This position requires a strong ability to coach, manage time, and motivate multiple participants in a group setting. Our instructors are expected to focus on a well-rounded theory of fitness using the tools given to optimize the client’s experience and results.
We’re looking for someone that can hold consistent times and maintain standing classes. Classes are held Monday-Sunday, starting as early as 7am on weekdays and 9am on weekends.
Job Responsibilities:
- Arrive to studio a minimum of 15-20 minutes prior to class start time.
- Set up studio appropriately prior to class and reset studio space after class.
- Deliver pre-designed workouts to groups of 24 (studio 1)/30 (studio 2) participants.
- Create a personal connection with each student.
- Create a class experience that shows your personality and skills while adhering to the Performance Lab standards and guidelines for each class type.
- Provide class instruction focusing on body alignment and mechanics.
- Provide options and modifications for specific exercises to accommodate varying skill levels.
- Follow up with students after class on FitGrid app.
- Build class attendance and retain current participants.
- Support the building community and connection.
- Energize, support, and motivate members throughout their experience.
Qualifications:
- Current Personal Trainer certification from select accredited certifying bodies, including, but not limited to ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, or AFAA.
- Current CPR/AED Certification.
- 2+ years of experience teaching groups or personal training in the fitness industry (preferred).
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
- Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Desire and capacity to train all fitness levels.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to sub for permanent classes and have interest in being added to the schedule.
